Ethnocentrism and Cultural Relativism are two different but impotent things.

Ethnocentrism means that you believe something about other cultural or people by the

way they act, and some are to quick to judge. Witch is very bad because people acted the

way they do cause it’s there culture {they were raised that way}.

In the articles they both experience this with the Christmas one, he by a ox for the towns

Christmas and bush man tells that him that he should have gotten it and that it would

have no meet on it. He was disappointed and felt like he had messed up. But when they

cut it Christmas night it was plenty big enough. Bush man only told him that cause that

his cultural. So with this one he realized that people act a certain way sometime because

of there cultural.

In the other story while he is telling the story, bush man doesn’t believe in that ghost can

come back from the dead or that there is such thing as witch craft. Now this may be

because of cultural reasons or just because he doesn’t believe, but most likely cultural

reasons


Cultural Relativism is very similar but different; Cultural Relativism is where you need

to respect and realize and take in to consternation that other people have different

cultures, and are raised different and that just cause one of the people from a certain

cultural act a certain way doesn’t mean the people from that cultural also act that way.


So yes they are different and the same in different ways. But don’t judge a person on

how the act or what they wear, or what they listen to, or there religion, because it was just

the way they were raised.
